  • Bio
    Cesar joined Salesforce in early 2015 and throughout his tenure he has focused on developing and sharing best practices for adoption/engagement with Salesforce Community Cloud Customers. He works closely with customers (pre- and post-sales) to help them understand the key strategies to achieve maximum business value from their Communities and Portals investments. He has helped develop the suite of Community Cloud Accelerators, held numerous customer workshops in AMER/EMEA/APAC, spoken at industry events, and spoken at multiple Dreamforce and World Tour Breakout Sessions. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Ignite Institute in Berkeley, lecturing on open innovation design and strategy. He is also a lecturer in the University of San Francisco Silicon Valley Immersion Program.

    Prior to Salesforce he was Director of Social Strategy Consulting at Lithium Technologies where he led community strategy engagements with customers in retail, telecom, service provider, high-tech, software and internet business sectors. Cesar's strategic consulting experience includes community best practices, ideation, gamification, and social strategy. He is also a former curator of TEDxEmbarcadero.

    Prior to Lithium he worked in strategy consulting and launched an online brainstorming platform (DiscoveryCast) to facilitate online collaboration and idea-sharing. He is a former Research Director at the Institute for the Future (IFTF) where he led the Signtific Project, the Institute’s study of the future of science and technology. Before joining IFTF, Cesar served as VP of Marketing and Business Development at InnoCentive, one of the leading open innovation platforms that was launched by Eli Lilly and Company. Cesar also spent 10 years at Shell Oil Company, holding a variety of positions in R&D, Manufacturing, and Sales and Marketing.
    He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Loyola University in Maryland and an M.S. in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University.
